Course Description:
The Level 1 certification consists of a two-day evaluated clinic. This clinic includes a workbook, written test, riding, teaching scenarios, and technical discussions.Participants should have mastery in riding and the teaching application of the Snowboard Task List and the Snowboard Challenge List.
The requirements for all levels of certification are based on the Snowboard Teaching System (STS) and are found in the latest version of the AASI National Standards.
- You must be a current member of AASI NRM or another region. If you are a member of another region, you must seek permission from your home region before participating in the event. For more information on membership, head over to the membership page.
- Read and be familiar with the Snowboard Technical Manual, American Association of Snowboard Instructors (AASI).
- Complete the Snowboard Level I E-learning Course at least 48 hours prior to your event.
- Successfully complete the Level I assessment event.
All participants attending PSIA-AASI Northern Rocky Mountain events are strongly encouraged to wear a helmet and other appropriate protective equipment while sliding or riding.
NRM Event Cancellation Policies:
The fee for an event may be fully refunded or transferred to a new event 3 weeks before the events start date. Between 3 and 1 week from the start date of the event, a 50% refund or event transfer is available. Less than a week til an event, no refunds or event transfers shall be granted. The self-cancellation button, which can be found next to the event you are registered for, can be used at any time and will reflect the aforementioned refund percentages.
